Happy Holidays from Missouri! Driving to my parent's place this week I noticed a problem. When I start my car the RPMs rev up to 2000 - 2500 and then quickly drop to around 500. It continues to spike and dip 6-8 times before eventually leveling out to around 1000 RPMs where it should be. This problem does not persist while driving and applying acceleration, but does when I release my foot from the gas while slowing down or coming to a stop. Any help would be greatly appreciated, god bless.

There is a valve called the idle air control valve. It controls the idle and is a common failure. It is on top of the throttle body and is held by 2 8mm bolts and an electrical connector. You can get it at any parts store.
