1997 Rover 4 Series

Engine Mechanical problem
1997 Rover 4 Series V12 Two Wheel Drive Manual 45000 miles

Hi my rover 400 is a 1.4l. It has a lot of oil over the engine as if there is a leak and it smells really oily too when i drive it even on short distances the engine smokes from under the bonnet( i am not driving it anymore). Also before i noticed these faults the blwer on the inside of the car was nt getting warm just blowing out cold air no matter on the length of the journey. I have been told by a friend that they think all these problems lead to head gasket failure I am not sure though if it all is the 1 thing
thanx suzanne

Hi there, Best to start with cleaning the engine down and running it to check for these engine oil leaks, first ensure that all fluids are correct, the heater may be a faulty heater control valve, blocked core, or low coolant, start here.
