Two months ago I replaced the battery, have drove the car and then it woulndt start cold silence. Checked battery, alternator and starter, starter was burnt out got new one and it cranked but wouldn't stay on got the car off the lift to crank it wouldn't went to dead silence again disconnected battery again it started then few hours later tried to go to work and it clicked then went back to dead silence tried to start it for almost a hour still wouldn't start. Thirty min later it started up then got it to my friends to help me figure out what was going on again we retested the battery its reading correctly, he checked fuses inside and out we made sure all grounds to the starter were good and checked th ones to the car everything was fine we tried starting it again watched the starter burn up with smoke. Haven't took it back to get another Because there is only one left before I'd have to wait to order one. What could be our problem it's not my fly wheel either we did spin it and the old starter woulndt spin so now I have two starter that burnt up and the smell of the new one I have noticed I been smelling that for a few months so it's been burning up we are lost on what the problem could be because we have checked all wiring fuses ect and still no clue

Try resetting security system it may be that if it continues after doing this then let amechanic look at it as it may be a cable corroded or some other connection problem. Also check for a bad starter relay underhood in fuse box, like corrosion on pins.

Thanks that wasn't the issue it was a bad starter that they sold me the third was the Charm because we had power to the starter but it only tried to crank once after we put it on the second wasn't any good the one today cranked right up but I have an issue I've been dealing with for several months as well when I'm driving my car will reve up high and I don't even have to push the gas pedal and it goes I littereally have to hold my break pedal down. We have checked relays sensors ect and still can't pin point it. I'm burning threw a tank of gas in less then two days and only getting 170 to Fillw tank and the car when it's in park it even does this as well. Thanks for responding to I hope this helps others with this issue because I was about ready to scrap it

Can't scan it for codes haven't been able to in over two years pretty much a few months after I bought it I wasn't able to scan for anything wrong with it. So now it's hard to even pin point issues with it. But I'll definitely check the other things and see if that helps

Have a mechanic check for a bad connection sometimes it's the scanner that can't pick things up or a bad connection/blown fuse.
