While driving my car it suddenly without warning shut down. I mean everything power lights everything and then the alarm started going off and when I tried to restart it the car wouldn't even turn over, there was no power. It turned out to be a loose battery connection. Would this of really caused my car to completely shut down as I'm concerned that if I was driving at 70mph when it happened I would of been in serious trouble.

Yes the loss or temp loss of connection would cause the vehicle to shut down. The alarm has it's own power supply hence the alarm going off. Make sure the connections are clean and tight and this will not happen again !
