Car has remote start, but upon trying to start the car via the method instructed in the manual (double click remote start button) the car just locks itself. What could the issue be? A dealer would want a $100.00 inspection fee so I do not want to take it there.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros. Com. There was a technical service bulletin sent to dealers indicating various problems with the remote start not working. I have attached it for your review. If the problem is related to this issue, the computer may need re-flashed which can only be done by a dealer.

Take a look at the attached.
