Rear wheal drive manual transmission will not go into any gear but 4th.

1986 NISSAN 300ZX

I have a 1986 Nissan 300zx non turbo, It will not go into any gear but will only go into 4th. I have replaced the clutch set, bled the system and it ran fine for about 3 to 4 months, then 1 by 1 each gear started going out. I took the tranny off and cracked the casing but dont know really where to go from here, what look for in detail. If you could help I would really appreciate it,

Will each selector hub actually engage the gear?

I actually just got done pulling it all apart, while inspecting it one of the shaft's on the side of the main shaft that is holding all the gears, the shaft snapped in half. If that makes sense? I think I might be able to weld it back together. I can take pics if makes it easier for you?

Welding wont work, it will vibrate and brake if you even manage to get it to work and get it re assembled, get a new shaft.

Not with out seeing the actual shaft you are talking about, it may be a selector shaft, but that dose not have gears on it. Your description is not all the clear, can you post a pic?
