Hello! Recently my trailblazer shut off on me shortly after replacing front suspension, roughly one day later. Turns out the ignition switch went bad. Replaced the switch, car starts no problem now. On the way back from getting an alignment because of front suspension replacement, the car started having flashing lights on the dash. First it was the Traction and Stabiltrax lights, which I thought were just from the alignment. Then shortly after, the ABS and brake light come on and off intermittently. Then randomly, the Car Security light, the battery light, the airbag light sometimes, and also the radio goes in and out as well as my gauges for battery, temperature, oil, and gas all go normal, then drop, as well as the power bank for the drivers side window/lock controls. Took the car to AutoZone to have it scanned and they said the alternator was half failing specifically the voltage regulator, so we replaced the alternator. Car still starts no problem and runs fine, but all these lights still come on and off as well as the erratic gauges and windows/locks. Checked the ground wire under the drivers side and the ground to the Cluster in the passengers side. I am riddled, and by no means am I a mechanic, but my step dad is and he is the one who has helped me replace all this other stuff. Any ideas? I know there's a lot of variables and information. It is just one thing after the other.

Hello,

This sounds like it could be a problem with ground #102 in your vehicle's engine compartment, on the left side near the rear of the Under-hood Fuse Block. This ground is the ground for all the system circuits that you described in your question. Inspect this ground and make sure it is clean, corrosion free, tight, and making good metal to metal contact. I have included in the diagrams down below a Ground Distribution Wiring Diagram for ground #102 as well as a diagram of where to find ground #102. Please get back to us with what you are able to find out.

Thanks,
Alex

Cleaned that ground, it was pretty cruddy. Connected everything together and drove it, still acting up. Did a little more digging, went looking for a ground to the starter from the drivers side wheel well, and saw a bolt that was half out by the ABS sensor plastic body connector. I believe it was possibly ground 302? Either way, I tightened that down, drove it for ten minutes, no lights or loss of power! Went back home, unscrewed it about a quarter way to try to mimic the light and power issues, nothing really happened but I went below and wiggled that ground wire and it was arcing! So I re-tightened it and drove it around again, and to work, and no lights again! I will post again if the problem comes back, but I am praying it doesn't! Thank you so much for your quick response!
