I am having a new power steering pump put on my car and was told that the garage had to take it to a radiator shop to have the distributor recharged, I’m a woman and feel I am being taken advantage of. They put a new power steering pressure hose on first and I couldn’t get the ignition switch to turn overtook it back and was told I needed a new switch which I refused to have put on they did something to it and that worked fine after, but I still had a leak. So, now the power steering pump replacement but recharging the distributor? Never heard of such a thing and I grew up around cars helping my dad work on them they were older vehicles but still so what I need to know is am I being taken advantage of?

Hello, I would take the car to a different shop for any more issues, what they are telling is not true. The distributor is part of the Ignition system. If you took it in for a fluid leak and now the Key won't turn or start the car, they may be trying to scam you. Unfortunately, some shops are like this. Absolutely take it somewhere else. Tell them what happened and if you have any other issues that you're not sure of, we won't lie to you here. This is a free service; we do not do that to people. But you're correct about your gut feeling, they will keep doing this to you. I would also have the next shop look around for loose wire harness plugs or other things that look odd.
