Road Noice

I have a 2002 Sunfire with a 2.2 litre motor and I just hit 100,000 km. My tires are making a lot of noice. The alignment seems to be fine as the car drives straight and braking is straight. I have no pulling to one side and the tires are not new.
Any ideas as to what it could be?

Two thoughts and questions:

1- are the tires smooth all the way around or do they feel choppy when running your hand around the circumference of the tire?

2- Does the noise change if yoou vere to the left or to the right?

The noise actually goes away when you turn a bit to the right. The tires are fairly new. They have about 10,000 km on them but the noise started well after having the new tires installed. There are no signs of improper wear as of yet.

You have a front wheel bearing going bad. The reason you didn't notice it before the tires were put on is that the old tires made enough nosie to mask the wheel bearing. The new tires are now quiet but the bearing noise is evident.

When I say noise, it is like a humming noise from the tires and you notice the gas and brake pedal viberate. Not the steering wheel though. Would this still be the whell bearing?

Still sounds like it to me. Jack the front end up and shake the each wheel checking for play. IF there is any, don't put this off.
