Car shut off while driving

All lights, radio, and chiming noises work, including the alarm. Ignition key turns, but no signs of the car starting. Battery and voltage levels are good. What could have caused the car to shut off while driving 65 mph on the highway? There was no prior indication of warning service lights in the dashboard. Oil levels are normal and the car has 1/2 a tank of fuel when it shut down. No overheating or failure problems prior to breakdown. A/C was on when the car stopped working.

It sounds like you are just losing ignition in the PCM which would be a crank sensor issue.

However, let's run through this guide which addresses this issue with more possible causes.
