I foolishly left my headlights on all day in 20-30 degree weather, and when I got out of work my car would not start, it would not crank at all, and none of the instrument panel lights would illuminate. I tried a portable battery charger for about 10 minutes, and that did not seem to help, so I used a set of jumper cables and a 70's volvo to try to jump the car. The car barely cranked after being on the cables for another 10 minutes and only 2 instrument lights came on. When I did try to start the sunfire, the volvo sounded like it was going to stall out.

May have a faulty alternator. That plus a drained battery will make it very difficult to start by jumping it with another vehicle. You should have the battery and alternator both tested at a local part store such as AutoZone for free of charge.

you need to put a new battery on the sunfire. Getting so drained has probably killed off the battery altogether. Let me know
