My 97 pontiac Sunfire has a problem with the engine idle speed when the air compressor kicks in. I have to hit the gas pedal to keep it running. Can this be fixed?

Could be anything from a bad AC sytem loading down your engine too much to a bad running engine (lacking power) to a bad engine idle speed sensor. The car has to be seen to diagnose. Take it in and have it checked.
