Air Conditioning problem
2000 Pontiac Grand Prix V8 Automatic

I have a 2000 Grand Prix. The air recently only started working on the highest setting. I have day time running lights that now no longer go on if I turn the air on settings 1-4 but will work when it is off or on setting 5. What does this mean? What would need to be done to fix it?

The daytime running lamps and the HVAC blower motor are on two separate circuits. The blower motor only working on high is a classic symtom of a failed blower motor resistor.
There is a possibility that there is damage to the blower motor resistor connector from overheating causing power to backfeed though the ground circuit which could cause multiple problems. Futher diagnosis would be required.
Check the blower moor resistor, the connector and wiring to it first.
