Yes I have to hold the lever in one spot, if I go above or below that spot, the blinker doesn't work.

Sounds to me that it is just the connection on the bottom side of the lever. Its just a basic switch and should be a easy, low cost fix. Just remove the steering column protector covers usually held by a few screws on the bottom and see what you cant discover. Blinkers are overrated anyways hehe.

The driver side front and rear turn signals come on[light but dont flash]. The passenger side ones work fine. Are there two seperate flashers for the signals and where are the flashers? Thanx.

Hello,

It sounds like the flasher is out here is the location so you can change it out. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

My car has been giving me trouble for about 2 weeks, when I start it, it chokes, then will smoth out, but also when it is doing this, if I turn on the signals, use the power windows, turn on the lights, anything to that matter, it will dye out, then I have problems starting it back, but the strange thing is, it dosent do this all the time, and when im driving it, and give a turn signal or use anything 2 that matter, al the power cuts off and it has died out on me.

Hello, I'd make sure the battery has a full charge. Make sure the cables/wires are all clean and tight on both ends. Make sure the charging system is ok. Then check the feed to and from the ignition switch. Do the testing when the problem is ongoing.

I have a 1993 grand prix se 2 door. A few days ago my signals stopped flashing so I had to flash them manually. I replaced the flasher fuse and the signal fuse and checked all my bulbs they where all fine now last night driving it home my signals went out all together they dont even light up when I manually flash them. My hazzards work but not throught my signal switch. Does anyone know why this is or what might be wrong and if its a new switch that I need can someone tell me how to replace it as I dont have the money to take it to the shop and pay hundreds for dollars to have it fixed again. Thanks

Hey, I had the same problem w/my 89 GP. Found out that I needed a new turn signal switch. The switch costs around $100.00. That's cheap compared to what the auto shops charge. What you have to do is remove the center panel of your steering wheel w/small screwdriver, disconnect your horn and then unplug your turn signal switch. (Not sure if yours is secure w/screws). It should come right out, but most importantly make sure you mark the placement of the switch w/grease pencil. Installation is reverse steps of removal.

Electrical problem
1991 Pontiac Grand Prix 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

right rear blinker does not flash or light up when switch is on. Front stays solid on like bulb is burned out. When I turn the hazards on all lights work. If you remove the flasher relay and leave hazard relay in and turn on hazards all four corners light up but if you turn the directional switch to left all stays the same but if you turn the switch to right rear lights go out. I.M leaning towards the switch being bad.
