1997 Pontiac Grand Prix 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 110k miles

Hi, I just purchased a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix and I'm not sure what is going on with it. It will start up fine I will drive for awhile, Maybe about 20 min and then the car just turns off. The Check Engine light comes on and that little oil tin with the drip comes on. I checked my oil and everything is fine with that. It usually starts up again right away however there has been a few times it takes about ten minutes to start up. I'm not sure what is going on and I need some advise on what it may be. Can you help me PLEASE!

Your coil is getting hot or your solenoid getting hot that why you have to wait a bit to start back up. Most likely its your coil going out

i believe your fuel pump runs through the oil pressure sending unit which could be why it dies out when the oil pressure light comes on, or it could be coming on due the vehicle dying and loosing pressure

have you tried getting it scanned for trouble codes?
