1992 Pontiac Grand Prix key was stuk in ignition and igniti

The car was parked running and set for little will now it wont start but the engine will rotate it is getting gas and spark i was trying to start and now the ignition is stuck in the start position and wont go back could the ignition be why the car wont start

Thank you for the donation. Yes, a faulty ignition switch can cause non starting.

Note if dash indicator lights turns off when key is turned to START position.

If key is stuck in START position, it is the key cylinder that is faulty and not the ignition switch.
