1986 Pontiac Grand Prix wont turn over

My car wont turn over. I can start it by jumping the starter but it stalls out in about 3 seconds.I have a security light that just blinks no matter how long you leave the swich on.I changed the nutral safty swich ang nothing still. Itried a nother collum and got the same thing so I put the factory one back in im lost thanks paul

Did you check the fuel pump. Is it getting good pressure

Its somthing in the security it wont turn over and the light just keeps blinking

Could be ECM security related. Does the ignition key have a resistor chip in it? Could be bad try different key or the ECM has failed to read

Yes it does im thinking that its in the key im getting a bypass to do away with the key. Ill try that when I get it.

I found the prob. It was a broken wire to the ignition I bypassed the key and it started right up thanks for all the help paul
