Engine problem
1997 Pontiac Grand Am Engine Size unknown Two Wheel Drive Automatic 200000 miles

just replaced starter and it has a new battery. Acts like it wants to start but isn't getting any fuel. You can hear the fuel pump running. Any idea about what might be the problem.

I would like you to check for spark and for fuel. The pump may be on but may not be putting out the proper amount of pressure needed to start and run the car. Also bad spark plugs, wires, and distributor cap and rotor can make startign a hassle. Check the actual fuel pressure with a gauge and while cranking it over listen to the injector/s whether they clicking.
