I am having a couple of minor problems with my car. First of all the check engine light is on, it reads the code 0440 which is evap emmisions or something. I have a hole in the top of my tank which keeps me from filling it more than half. I bought a new tank and need to put it in, do I need a new fuel pump to do so? It works fine.
the "ETS OFF" light WILL NOT SHUT off when the check engine light is on. The button wont work when check engine is glowing.
I took it to a mechanic who reset the check engine light and the ETS button suddenly worked, then the engine light went right back on as withthe ETS light.

I'm in the process of replacing the gas tank and the front rotors. Other than that the car is fine.
(although my drivers window is off track and leaks in the winter, but I dont care about that)

You must replace the tank, you can put the pump in new tank. If the problem resolves with th light out try the tank and a reset. If it does not work, tho it will clear the 440 code, get back to us.
