Engine Performance problem
1990 Pontiac Firebird V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 22K miles

I have a new engine with 22K miles and from the start I would put in fresh oil change and it would get dirty within 1K miles. I did have a oil analysis company look at the oil and and tested it and they said it was fine but just wondering what would cause the oil to discolor so quickly. New 355CI with super charger 9 PSI.

Hi there,

When you change the oil you don't remove all the oil in the engine, oil id in the gallery's oil cooler if fitted and coating the internals of the engine, so when you change the oil any discolored oil will stain the fresh oil, as you have said, the oil is OK, so don't worry about this its not a problem at all, just always change the oil hot and do the filter with each change to remove as much oil oil as possible.
