Drive Train Axles Bearings problem
1975 Pontiac Firebird V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 75000 miles
After replacing the axel bearings. I tryed to reinstall the pinion shaft. It seems to stop at the thrust washer and/or the pinion gear. I haqve tryed to readjust the washer and the gear, but it just will not go through. I have tryed tapping on it, but don`t want to crack or jam it Is ther a solution to this "very aggravating" problem ?
THANK YOU, in advance ECS

Hi
Are you installing pinion gear in housing first differential case/ring gear out? if yes are you using new collapsible spacer on pinion shaft? Are you driving bearing on pinion shaft till a few threads are showing?
Let me know
