1993 Pontiac Firebird trans am axle

1993 Pontiac Firebird V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 99,000 miles

I am working on putting a new pinion gear in my 1993 pontiac firebird trans am. I cannot figure out how to pull the axles apart to get to it

there are four bolts that hold the axle in place. remove the bolts then there is a slide hammer puller used to remove each axle.

we have got the bolts off and loosened the slide hammer but it feels like its stuck what should we do

some axles hace a C lock. Look at the end of the axle inside the pumpkin. the pinion shaft will have to be removed so the shafts can move inward making the c locks accessible to be removed. once you get the c locks removed then you will be able to use the slide to remove the axle.
