I am trying to replace the serpentine belt on my grandma's car and ran across a problem. After taking the old belt off, I realized it won't come off completely, because it is around the engine mount. Do I have to jack the engine up and unbolt the mount to replace the belt? Someone please tell me there is another way! Thank you for your time, Sarah

You will probably have to jack the engine up, but only about an inch (just enough to put the belt through). Support the engine with a jack (Not by the oil pan unless it is aluminum, and if so use a wooden block between the jack and the pan). Then take the 2 bolts out of the mount on the passenger side front wheel-well. Jack the motor up about an inch, and the belt should slide between the crack.
