I went to sears to service my car(transmission flush) and the guy told me that because of the amount of miles(155,000 1997 Plymouth Grand Voyager) that it would not be wise to flush the transmission because it will cause more problems. He said that the parts are already accostumed to the old transmission fluid and because of that it is not good to flush it and put new fluid. Is this true? I don't see why he would give me incorrect info especially cause he did not charge me?

Yes, that is great advice. With that many miles on the transmission, flushing it now would only cause gunk to stir around from the bottom and get pushed into the system which may harm it. The best thing to do is a simple drain and replacement of the fluid instead of a flushing.

Thks so much for your reply, so where do I go to do that simple drain. I don't want them to get confused and do a flush. Should I go to a mechanic instead of Sears Automative Ctr. Thanks again

Any lube place should be able to do it. Just make certain you tell them you want your tranny fluid DRAINED and refilled but not flushed.
