My van keeps dieing then I put it into reverse or drive. I have been getting past this by warming the van up then giving gas as I put it in gear(as I was told to do by the last mechanics since they could not find the problem). Now it is vibrating and jerking and when I slow down it wants to die. Any ideas on what could be wronge?

Do you have a check engine light on
have to have it checked for codes
open hood and check for vacuum leaks
check timing?
Check IAC valve

Engine light was not on until the mechanic checked the codes. He said everything came back good, and then cleared the engine light. The van has been checked for vacume leaks also and there was none.
