I just put a new thermostat and a new hose on this van but it's still overheating and the water pump is about 1.5 years old what could be the problem/

I am having a similar problem, replaced the thermostat, and have been told I may need to replace the head gasket. I am hesitating on that since I replaced it about 90k miles ago and am not convinced it will solve the problem. Have you tried that?

DOES THE ENGINE FAN COME ON?
HAVE YOU CHECKED THE RADIATOR FOR BEING PARTIALY PUGGED?
IF ITS THE HEAD GASKET YOU SHOULD SEE ROLLING BUBBLES IN THE RADIATOR, WHICH ARE COMPRESSION GASES LEAKING BY THE HEAD GASKET INTO THE COOLING SYSTEM. AT WHICH POINT THE CYLINDER HEAD MAY BE CRACKED AS WELL.
