Engine Cooling problem
2000 Plymouth Voyager 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive 140000 miles

Son was driving and van overheated. Added coolant and it seemed ok but it seems to be leaking.
Mechanic checked and said it was timeing chain gasket leaking. Does this make sense?

Hi
You have a timing belt and if coolant is coming from around cover it is water pump. I would get second opinion if this guy does not know it has belt and thinks there is a gasket there and not water pump would not let them work on car.
