On my car listed above (SEL) with dual climate control, the HVAC system only blows on defrost. Would this be a mode door motor or something else?
Where is it located?

Hi,

The mode door actuator is the most likely cause. It is under the dash, mounted to the HVAC box.

If you look at the pics below, I included the directions for the removal and replacement of the actuator.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Good Evening, Joe,
Received the part the other day and started to look over your instructions. Couple of questions,
1) says remove Instrument panel cluster (ipc) refer to Section 413-01. Do you have a copy of that?
10) says remove fuse 15 from the SJB, I looked at the under-hood relays and 15 is the fuel pump relay and the fuse box on the left side of the drivers compartment #15 is stop lamp and backup lamp.

The closest one would be #9-10A SYNC module, Multi-function displays, Electronic finish panel, Radio frequency transceiver module

Or is the SBJ something somewhere else?
Thanks, Dave

Hi,

Dave, the SJB should be above the left kick panel, behind and above the parking brake pedal. As far as the IPC, I attached the directions below.

Let me know if you find it.

So, the SJB is just another name for the fuse box? Then pulling fuse 15 doesn’t make sense how this recalibrates the HVAC mode door as #15 is for Stop Lamps and Backup Lights.

Hi,

The smart junction box is a fuse box and the body control module. And you are correct about the fuse. Fuse 15 is removed to reinitialize with regard to the brake switch, CC switch, and so on.

While fuse 15 is removed, the HVAC module recalibrates the actuators when the key is turned on. After that procedure is complete, the fuse is replaced.

Let me know.

Well had a 37-degree day here today to I went after that mode control module.
It's definitely a job for a young, small armed, double-jointed person. My back is sore, my neck is sore, but I got her. The mode control module was the problem.
Thanks so much for your help in information.

Dave,

Thanks for the update and for making me laugh. You couldn't be more correct. One must be a contortionist. What would we do without all that extra room to work and a place to rest our heads? LOL

Regardless, I'm glad to know you got it working. Take care and feel free to come back anytime in the future.
