I have a 95 oldsmobile aurora 128000 miles V8 ENGINE. WELL WHEN I TURN MY HEADLIGHTS LIGHTS ON THEM AND MY DASH LIGHTS START TO FLICKER REALLY BAD. AND NOT ONLY THAT WHEN I AM AT A LIGHT AND MY FOOT IS ON THE BRAKE MY RPM STARTS TO GO UP AND MY CAR STARTS TO REV. BUT MY CAR IS AT A COMPLETE STOP. WHEN I TOOK IT BACK TO WHERE I BROUGHT IT AND THEY SAY THAT ITS SOMETHING WITH THE SECURITY LIGHT. TRUTH IS THAT THIS DID NOT START UNTIL MY SECURITY LIGHT CAME ON ONE NIGHT BUT THE LIGHT IS OFF AND THEY ARE STILL JUST FLICKERING. DOES ANYONE KNOW THAT THE REAL PROBLEM IS BECAUSE I REALLY CANT AFFORD FOR IT TO BREAKDOWN ON ME NOT YET. PLEASE HELP.

I know I am a new member, but trust me I had this problem with my own 1999 Aurora quite soon after I purchased it used. Simply go underneath the dash, I don't quite remember if there is a cover or not, but either way, there is a wiring harness underneath it. It is about directly underneath the steering column. Within the wiring harness happens to be two quite oddly placed fuses. They are the same rating and regular fuses as in any other car, and can blow as such. These fuses are completely separate from any of the fuses on the side of the dashboard, or underneath the seats and do not coincide with their functions. These two fuses can also become rusty in which you can either replace them and/or clean them up and their slot with a wire brush. The problem should go away immediately. Good luck. The security light should go off as well.
