Analog Dash

CAR WOULD NOT START. AAA CAME TO JUMP START CAR. HOOKED UP WHAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE A FAIL SAFE JUMPER PACK. TURNED ON KEY GUAGES STARTED TO SPIN. TOOK TO A FIRESTONE STORE & HAD A BATTERY INSTALLED. GUAGES ARE STILL MESSED UP. TEMP GUAGE WORKS BACKWARDS, FUEL GUAGE IS PINED ON BACK SIDE, ODOMETER WENT FROM CORRECT MILLAGE TO 388670 SOME TIMES IT SAYS 9999999, TRIP METETR 10TH DIGIT RUNS LIKE 10TH'S, OIL LIGHT COMES ON STAYS ON THEN BLINKS APPOX. 2 MIN, THEN GOES OUT & GEAR SELECTOR LIGHTS IN DASH DON'T MOVE 3 STAY ON. DISCONECTED BATTERY TO REST COMP, DIDN'T WORK. PLEASE HELP! IT'S MY DAUGHTERS CAR.

I'll see if I can get a procedure, but I am expecting the cluster is bad. Check this ground:

If it is good, you 'll need to get the codes with a scanner to find out which way to go. Post the codes and we may be able to go further.

I think the cluster is bad! Codes are p0230, p1602, p1610, p1626 low oil light flashing sir b1061 - history

Based on the codes, there is a communication error that may not be the cluster. The p1600 codes make refernce to communication with the pcm and other modules. The PO230 is related to the fuel pump circuit.

Check the PCM connector for any corrosion or pin damage.

You may end up needing a scanner that can communicate with the modules on this one.

I can get you the diagrams for the fuel pump code, but it may be tied into the communication problem.
