Electrical – Curse Control issue

I have a 95 olds, Cutless Supreme 3.1 with curse control electrical issue. While using the cruse, when and ONLY WHEN I turn on the LEFT Blinker it disengages the cruse. The resume will not resume so I have to cut curse off and back on to set the cruse again. Some times I can push the set button and it will set a new speed but most of the time I have to turn off the cruse and back on again. Most of the time it completely shuts off.

With the car off, I have ohm-ed the entire harness from the cruse switch to the contact block at the end of the steering column. All pins and wires are good. With the ohm meter on each pin, I will turn on the LEFT Blinker and wiggle the wires and all contacts are fine and at NO time will there be a break in the ohms.

In conclusion, when I am using the cruse and as I slowly pull the blinker leaver down to engage the LEFT Blinker, the INSTANT the LEFT Blinker makes contact and engages and starts to blink, that is when the cruse disengages. At no other time do I have a problem with the cruse.

What are your thoughts?

Thank you,
Flagdad

Hi flagdad,

Thank you for the donation.

There are no relative wiring circuit connection between the turn signal and the cruise control so the only possible cause I can think of would be the ground circuit.

Check if the cruise control ground circuit at transmission housing and the left turn signal ground circuit at left side of radiator support are clean and secure.
