First I need to know if it has been converted to 134a.If so, you can buy charge kits at just about any auto parts store and they have complete charging instructions included. It is fairly simple to do. Did they ever tell you what was leaking? just curious what kind of refrigerant leak they can temporarily "patch".

I am not sure if it has been converted. they just told me that i have a freon leak and its bad that they cannot guarantee that it will stay sealed

Ask them exactly what is leaking........ If you paid to have it looked at then you deserve an answer. If ti is leaking that bad, might want to consider having it fixed instead of pumping chemicals out into the air. Do the fittings look like a schrader valve on a tire or are they bigger in diameter and without threads on the outside?
