2003 Oldsmobile Alero

I am a female 19 year old college student with zero car knowledge. I have a 2003 Alero Oldsmobile. A couple weeks ago my right tire hit the the curb. I blew a tire and needed a new rim. But there is still something else wrong with it. The tire is bent inward and when I drove it the right tire seems to drag on the ground rather than role. Also the ABS light is on inn the dash. I really want to get an estimate of how much it will cost to fix and what might be wrong with it before I take it in to get it fixed. Thank-you

Hi sorry about your bad luck. But don't worry it probably is not as bad as what you are thinking.

Behind the part of the tire that you see are a lot of other things when these things take a side impact some of them will bend.

One is the strut sometimes these will bend if so you are looking at about a 100 dollars strut and labor and an alignment about 50. Dollars

another thing that bends is the lower control arm. This at the bottom of the wheel. The part new about 150 plus 100 bucks to replace it. And alignment.

TIE ROD END this is another part that is frequently damaged when a car is curbed. About 40 dollars for the part. 25.00 to put it on plus alignment

These are typical repairs in this senareo yours may vary depending on labor rates in your area.

This is in most states conciddered accident damage and most insurance company's will cover this damage depending on your coverage.

Well I hope this helps and please feel free to reply if you have questions. Thanks for writing billymac
