Got home from work today with my boss and went to my car to go to the store and my boss noticed a big pile of engine oil on the ground underneath my car. I checked all other fluids and they are good. No mixtures or anything but my oil level dipstick was completely bone dry when I tried to check my oil. I just had my oil done at best one tire in Ky and drove it all the way to Ohio for work with no problems until today my boss sees this. I don't have a lot of money so I'm hoping this can be an easy fix. My questions is, how can this happen and what can cause it and about how much am I looking to pay to take it to a repair shop and have it fixed?

Hi, and thank you for using 2CarPros. If you just recently had an oil change then you should take it back/tow back to the shop that did the oil change. The drain plug may be lose or drain plug gasket leaking. Or you could have a leaking oil filter. Either way you need to have the vehicle in the air to inspect.

Also I would not touch anything as well. If you start to tamper with the plug or filter the shop can deny it was there workmanship. Shops usually put a tamper seal around there drain plugs and filters. You can raise the vehicle using a floor jack and using jack stands to secure the vehicle and get under so you can inspect and take pictures before you take it back.
