Oil change

I just recently did my oil change on my car it is the lX model. After I finished I took it for a drive and noticed it was leaking a lot of oil. So I looked in the filter box and noticed I had not replaced the old o-rings on the filter. So I removed the filter again and replaced the o-rings and screwed it back on. So I went on another drive to check it out when I got back home I noticed it did not drip as much as the first time, but I still see a few oil drops. Could my oil filter have been damaged from the beginning or replaced it without the new o-rings or could it just excessive oil in the frame that leaked from the first time? Thank you. Looking forward for some good answers.

It is probably excessive oil that has leaked on frame and wherever else make sure to always change oil rings and put oil on them so they will seal good.
