Truck starts and drives but at certain speeds like twenty, thirty and forty mph it will rev but does not want to accelerate unless you floor it and it jumps a little. The transmission dip stick looked dry and there was some brown mold looking stuff on the end of it the first time I pulled it out. So I put four quarts in and nothing has changed. Also first time car owner, owned for less than a year and already put over $2,000.00 in work for ball joints, tires, and new throttle body.

Sounds like the transmission clutches are burnt from not having enough fluid in there, unfortunately. You will need to either rebuild or replace the transmission.

As for as the $2,000.00 for the ball joints, tires, and throttle body, you have got to find yourself a cheaper mechanic. Because whoever charged you that much for those things may have charged you too much. That probably should not have cost you more than $1,300.00.

Yeah $1,000.00 for ball joints is high. I know it is a real pain to do them, but it is not a $1,000.00 pain. Anyways, you are welcome.
