The car stalls when I press the gas pedal. The fuse and gas pump have been replaced. When it stalls I replace the fuse. It will run for a while, but at some point the fuse burns out. Needless to say I only drive when I have to and thenn only on city streets. I have had two mechanics work on it with no success. I have sunk about $500.00 into it. Any help would be appreciated.

Added note: I had a throw out bearing, clutch and motor mount installed approximately six months ago.

What ever fuse it is you have a short in that line that is why the fuse blows. It has to be checked to see if wire is pinched someplace and grounding out.

The last mechanic that looked at it went through that, but said he would only to be able to trace the short if the fuse went out and the time it was running.

Meant to say only if the fuse went out at the time he was trying to trace the short.

That is why you put a circuit breaker in place of fuse so it will click off then go back on when cooled down. The fuse has to protect whatever circuit it is. Find another mechanic that will do that.
