Ok, so I replaced the valve cover gasket, fuel & air filters, plugs, wires, distributor cap & rotor. The truck feels like it's misfiring when I accelerate - sort of stalls and is really jerky. I'm driving it to Dallas from GA, but I don't think it's road worthy just yet. What else can I do?

When you replaced the rotor cap and distributor, you likely shifted the engine out of time. Reference a Haynes or Chilton manual and you should be able to fix this problem easily. While timing lights et al are ideal, I always just time these by listening to the engine and judge the responsiveness of punching the accelerator.
