2002 Nissan Sentra 4 cyl Automatic 100000 miles

My car has been parked for most of the winter but started everyday. NOw it won't start without getting it boosted, and it loses the charge when it is parked again. The lights will come on inside and out,
so do I need a new battery or is this some other problem?

How old is the battery? Most car batteries last anywhere from 3-5 years. If you can get it to start, take it to Walmart. They will be able to to load test it for free, and if it is bad, a battery for your car should cost no more than 40-50 dollars, installed.

Another thought, ask them to also check the alternator voltage. It should register about 13.8 to 14 volts at idle, indicating that the alternator is charging. If it stays around 12 volt at idle, the alternator could be bad.
