Nissan Maxima SE-1999 75K Miles

Recently had some worn belts replaced. Upon startup soon after a 2-3 second squeal occurs about 80% of the time when starting.

Brought it back they fixed it by spraying the belts and it was fine for the day, but next morning back again.

thoughts?

If they need adjusting and only do it on startup why would spray fix it for the day?

PS brought it back in they said it did not need adjusting..
So I will need more ammoto get them to properly adjust if that is the case.

thanks

Backyard mechanic is still likley right. The motor has a belt tensioner that automatically keeps the tension. It's probably weak.

You can try replacing just the belt, but fair chance of the tensioner being responsible.

I'm pretty sure that year has a spriong loaded tensioner. If they are v-belts, then I am wrong.
