I recently replaced sesnor #226A1-5Y701 and within one month the dealer says I need sesor #226A1-8J101. They say that voltage is to high and I need the sensor. First, what is the function of these two senors and if I don't replace the second one soon, what is the consequences? They sayI have four 02 sensors. They found code PO 138 02 sensor bank #1, sesnor#1.

Hello
Thanks for the donation

The 02 sensors are vital to your vehicle's peformance as it controls the air to fuel ratio to the engine. If the sensor starts to fail, you will begin to have issues with starting vehicle and low idle problems along with other possible symptoms. Cold weather seems to throw the 02 codes falsely in most vehicles. You can have the engine light codes deleted and if the engine light comes on again with the same codes and the weather is warm, replace the 02 sensors that are stated in the diagnostic scan.

Hope this helps.
