2001 Nissan Maxima Starting problems

Hey, I need help. For a wile now my car has had a problem starting unless you push in the gas then it starts up just fine and works great until today I tried to start my car after work and forgot to push the gas in during the starting process and it didn't start so I took the key out tried again and all I could hear is one CLICK and nothing would happen I tried several times and all I hear is one CLICK then nothing can you help? And by the way It's a 2001 Nissan Maxima GLE

No crank at all/nothing/nada when key is engage to starting position

Could be a blown fusible link, the starter, starter relay, park and neutral switch/transmission position switch and ignition switch assuming the battery and connections are good. Note:If it doesn't apply disregard.

Try shorting out the starter solenoid and see what happens
