Engine vibration

Engine Mechanical problem
2003 Nissan Altima 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 85000 miles

when i turn on my air conditioner the engine seems to shift and it cause the fan belt to vibrate and make a loud noise. it does it more when the car is not moving then when it is. I observed the engine when the air conditioner is turned on and there is a noticeable shift/movement in the engine when the air conditioner is turned on and that is when the vibration and noise begins. any help would be appreciated.

Hi jamesjob447,

Thank you for the donation.

Seems the belt is either worn or the auto tensioner is weak. From the diagram, check if the belt is within the indicated range. If yes, then you might have to replace the autotensioner.
