Installed a new battery, the motor will turn over fine but won't start. I had it towed to local mechanics where it sat over the weekend and it started right up for mechanic Monday morning, I am thinking one of the fusible links is acting up. I saw on another post on this site the location of a fusible link coming off the battery. Is there other fusible links for the fuel system? If so, could you provide a diagram of the location?

Hi,

A fusible link works like a fuse. It either will work or won't. I have a question. When this happened, was the engine hot? Also, did you check to see if there was spark and fuel to the engine?

If it was when the engine was hot, it could be a faulty crankshaft position sensor. Take a look through this link and let me know if it mirrors what you experience:

These sensors are adversely affected by heat. It's a theory at this point.

Let me know.

Joe
