My navara d40 engine stall at idle. In the morning when I start it, there is an knocking sound from the engine. After some minutes that sound stops. But engine stops at any bend or color light, when I press the clutch. One mechanic guy said there is a pressure leak at common rail or pressure pump or faulty at injector. But he is not sure about it and said it will cost more than $20k.
I have already changed fuel filter, replaced rubber hosses near fuel filter and cleaned the fuel lines. But faulty stays the same.
what is the exact reason for this? Can anyone help me on this. Thanks.

My best advice to you is to take this to a real shop for at least one true diagnosis. There are just too many unknown factors to help you much here. However I do agree with the possibility that the one mechanic youve spoken to has presented. Id at least call another shop about the cost hes projected. Seems kinda high

I drove cab in to AMW workshop yesterday and they told me it may be due to timing chain problem. I asked them to repair it. Tomorrow I will visit and update the status. Thanks

The faulty is timing chain. They replaced it and now it is not stalling at idle. Today I couldnt bring it home. On next monday I will go there and bring it home. Price is nearly $1500. If I trust previous mechanic and let him to do the repair, I will have to suicide. :D
