My car is a 98 Eclipse RS-(5 speed 61k 420a 2.0L) and it just ramdomly dies for no reason and my check engine light is always on. My check engine light wasn't on when I bought the car but after I took it to the shop it never came off.

I got a new water-pump, spark plugs, and a new timing belt. I don't know if they didn't put the pump back in right or what.

My car dies when driving whenever. Then starts back up after a couple of minutes Check engine light is on for the "missfiring code"
Any thoughts or ideas or more information?
Trying to fix my car so I can leave town!

I have a 98 Eclipse GS with the 420A and my o2 sensor was causing that to happen with mine so that might be a thought.

Alright, I basically have the same problem only with more details.
My car has new:
Oil & oil filter
fuel filter
cam sensor
crank sensor
timing belt
water pump

The check engine light isn't on any more. When the car dies it shows a battery and the oil can. I can't even drive in town now. It dies too easliy. I haven't been out of town with my car since I bought it. (Always dies on the highway once up to speed 75 mph and is usually good around 30mph for a while)

I'm thinking it might be the fuel pump, maybe a head gasket who knows? If not what else would you suggest? I haven't drove it much at all it still has 61,100 miles or so.
Any idea's would help.

Thanks

There was a loose wire in the harness that was corroded and a new battery.
