i've had a mitsubishi colt 1.8 gti 16v for around 2 + 1/2 years and its been sat in my garage since i got it. i bought it off my sister and when she had the car was running fine. i used to turn the car over daily and it ran well but then i stopped. it sat in the garage for 2 years and now it wont start. i've changed the battery, spark plugs and put petrol in, and it turns over but wont start. i've been told it could be the system management modulator? i have no idea about cars but i can't see that its anything major because it worked fine then was just sat up, now it wont start! any help you can give would help. remembering i don't know about cars, be very descriptive in your answer please, thanks

Get a starting fluid spray inside the throttle body and see what happens. If it starts and dies out-its a fuel problem If not its an ignition -

BTW do you hear the fuel pump come On?

i'm not sure, i don't think i'd know if i did though. all i know is, that basically, when i turn the key, everything turns over, but the only thing is that it doesn't fire up, sounds and feels (shuddering) like its trying its best to, but jus falls short on the last hurdle!

Have the fuel pressure check and report back the readings to include what happened when you used the carb. cleaner.
