Hello, I was wondering if anyone has changed one from Auto transmission to stick shift and what all I need to change over? Also the auto will shift fine for a while then it will not shift from one gear to the other without me really putting the pedal to the floor. then it will shift to the next gear when it does this going at a steady speed it will down shift from overdrive to a lower gear for half a second then back into overdrive. I dont think the trans is shot because it works fine most of the time. I have read alot of mad things about the auto trans in these cars. Would I do better changing the trans to stick shift?

Thanks for the help!!!

Hey saved,
Yeah those Mitsu auto trannies had there fair share of problems! If its not too costly for ya I would recommend to swap to a standard as the auto is pretty high maintenance! You would need a tranny, flywheel, clutch and shifter/center console and linkages.

If you plan to keep the auto trans then definitely get a tranny service done (filter) and then a COMPLETE tranny fluid flush w/ approved fluid! And then plan on a fluid flush every year or so. Hope this helps!
