I have an '01 Montero limited. Low miles, great condition, excellently maintained. Stopped abruptly while being driven approx 2-3 minutes after start up. Ran perfect previous. The timing belt slipped 1 tooth on the crank, but the heads/pistons are fine. Belt has been replaced, and engine timing set correctly. Passed compression test with flying colors. Still won't start. CKP, CMP, TPS, MAF, and AIC motor tested with PICOscope and working, coil packs are fine, >55lbs fuel pressure. Fuel injectors are pulsing. No codes in ECU, and ECU displaying live data, and data looks good. I have air, fuel, and spark. Just won't run. What the heck?

The problem was the horrible fuel we're getting thanks to Al Gore, and his crappy corn gas. The engine flooded a little while diagnosing the timing belt issue. All 6 plugs were coated in what looked, and nearly smelled like pancake syrup. Not 1 would fire. I've never seen gasoline do this after setting less than 24 hours. The fuel in the tank was premium grade bought the day before. Another mechanic informed me this problem is becoming more, and more common. He said he's seen injectors on an '08 year model car with less than 20K miles completely plugged from the bad gas in some areas. The fuel some places are selling these days will destroy your engine. It's almost like a greenie conspiracy. They'll reduce emissions by demolishing your car's engine. No running engine, no pollution, problem solved! You can't get to work? Tough s#!@.
