1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse Manual 109000 miles

My brake lights when out and the bulbs are fine. I dont know where the brake light switches are located in my car. I was told that you could tweak the switch a little and that might be the only problem, is this true? If so, what do I do. And if not, what else could be the problem?

Follow the brake pedal till it meets up with the brake support bracket-you will find the brake switch here-disconnect it and jumper the 2 terminals-the light should come On. If so adjust it.
